Cancellation Policy
For weddings, you may cancel a month prior to the initial scheduled date on contract in which your deposit will be refunded back to you in full. If you cancel less than a month from your initial scheduled date on contract, only 25% of your deposit will be refunded. Reason being is that certain items have already been ordered, purchased, and time invested making your special cake a priority of mine. The initial deposit may be used as credit for a future order/ rescheduled date. The deposit will become non-refundable under any circumstances after a future order/ rescheduled date has been re-ordered.
For all other occasions, you may cancel 72 hours PRIOR TO the due date in which 25% of your deposit will be refunded OR can be credited to a future order/ rescheduled date. The deposit will become non-refundable under any circumstances after a future order/ rescheduled date has been re-ordered. A full refund will only be refunded if you give me a notice 7 days prior to due date on the invoice that I will provide upon ordering. Cancellations after 72 hours WILL NOT be refunded. Reason being, I have already started the process of purchasing quality materials and ingredients for your order so please understand. Again, you can also use this as a credit for a future order/ rescheduled date. The deposit will become non-refundable under any circumstances after a future order/ rescheduled date has been re-ordered.
ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
Q: How much can I expect to pay for my wedding cake?
A: Cakes are priced by the slice and how detailed/intricate the design is. Fondants cost more than buttercream, although I recommend fondant for it's smooth finish. There is no additional costs to place floral arrangements on the cake as long as you coordinate with your florists for me to pick up the arrangements on the day of to be ready to place on your cake at the time of set up. Cakes are unique in price, because of how much time is invested in the design and planning to include materials, cake topper, etc.
Q: How much cake do I need?
A: You can never have too much cake! All jokes aside, how much cake you need determines how many guests you have and do all of your guests like cake? 100-150 servings, 3-tier; 155-295, 4-tier; 300-400, 5-tier, etc. If you need less than 100 servings, but like the 3-tiered or milt-tiered look, I can replace certain tiers with "dummy" cakes that are decorated just like the rest of the cake. You can also order a two-tiered cake and cupcakes, too! That can be discussed over a wedding consultation with me.
Q: What to expect at your initial wedding consultation?
A: The type of venue will be discuss whether it will be indoor or outdoor. The season will be discussed, because the weather is unpredictable sometimes. The theme, style, and design of your cake will be discussed. So feel free to bring any type of items such as pictures, fabric, color swatches, decorations, etc. We will also be discussing the different flavors of cake, fillings, and frosting.
Q: What to expect at the cake testing?
A: After the initial wedding consultation, we will schedule a cake testing! The cake testing fee is a non-refundable fee of $30-$50 (depending on the cost of ingredients) at the time of the wedding consultation. The fee is to reserve your cake testing appointment. You are allowed to bring no more than four individuals to the cake testing including the bride and groom per appointment. If you do not make your appointment or give at least a 48 hour cancellation notice your fee IS NOT refundable. You must make your appointment or reschedule. Refunds will not be made even after the rescheduled appointment.
Q: What are the fees for delivery and/ setup?
A: The costs depends on location and quantity. *See next question on how to get free set up outside city limits.* Note: City limit is different from county limits.
Q: Why should we choose you over other bakers, and do you have any deals other than specials listed in the 'PRICING' page?
A: Reason number one, not only do I put a wealth of effort, time, and creativity into creating your one-of-a-kind cake for your special day, they will taste delicious, too! All my cakes and cupcakes creations are home-made from scratch including fillings, buttercream, and fondant. Orders are made 1-2 days prior to the due date for quality and freshness. I never freeze my cakes/cupcakes like store-bought cakes. Reason number two, all wedding cake orders will receive one complimentary anniversary cake valid within two years! So if you decide to freeze the top tier ("because it's tradition") and eat it on your first anniversary, you still have a complimentary Mia's Cake and Cupcakes for you the following year! Reason number three, I offer free set up on orders for 200-300 guests in select areas. Lastly, the cake testing fee will be deducted from your deposit if you book your date at your initial wedding consultation with me including your 50% deposit.
I hope I answered any questions you may have! If I didn't please do not hesitate to contact me! HAPPY CAKING!
